Enjoy the history and heritage of the Old Town of Munich from a rare perspective of a scientist. The walk will take you from Karlstor to Odeonsplatz leading us between major sites in the Old Town: St. Michael Church, the cathedral (Frauenkirche), Marienplatz, the old castle and the new castle (the residence).

The narrative of this tour is unique and ideal for curious minds. We will discuss, among other things, why the first philosophers came to Munich, who started the first college in the city, witch hunt, female education, unique features of Munich's monuments, the “travelling” university, the golden age of German science, resistance movements to the NS rule and the current state of science in Germany. All this without forgetting about the history of Munich, its rulers, citizens and beer!
